Two Sides of the Coin- Dishonored by Vixenized Two Sides of the Coin- Dishonored by Vixenized
*zomgwtfbbq new fandom aquired*

Did two sketches of some Corvo fanart from Dishonored today to get it out of my system since I'v finished the game... Oh who am I kidding, any excuse to draw fanart from this will do, its so bloody awesome.
Took about 30 hours to complete it on Low Chaos with non-lethal solutions as 'Good-Guy Corvo' (though being spoiled by Skyrim and Fallout, I really really wish this was much longer than 9 missions T^T)
Oh yes, and Emily=FRIKKEN ADORABLE! I love this game! And its soo cute! And dark! WTH!! Also, still figuring out how to take down those Tallboys =I
<Edit:> Okay, I now have enough feedback to kill the Tallboys XD Thanking you kindly!

Now time to play it on high chaos with 'D*ckBag Corvo'! Come here you little piggies! Time for the slaughter! :D

Excellent picture- I love how you show the duality between a violent playthrough and nonlethal (or less) one.
...But damn, Corvo is such a fearsome badass on the left (nice touch with the crow feathers for his namesake). Who wouldn't want to use awesome powers like that?

Then I think of Emily, and how I want to be a good role model for her. The kid deserves one, after what she went through. The latter is worth it ^^

I still get torn between playing as a beast who sends everyone running, and helping Emily-- only killing if I was cornered (or certain targets).

I did play high chaos first, because I kept getting spotted and mobbed by guards. But I learned from my past mistakes and played low chaos the second time.

hey, I just asked a friend who had done both for solutions to a problem (one of the rules of being a first-rate assassin, use every available resource)

You should have done high chaose first. You would like to keep the low chaose saves handy. I did both and after the bad ending you may want to have good ending back.

I 'should' not have to had done anything. I was more than happy enough to do the low chaos first. It was the style of play I got the most enjoyment out of since I found that more challenging, and I enjoyed my first try ending happily without knowing the consequence of my actions. Tis a feel good moment.

My theory is that they would have gotten married before Emily was born, but Corvo chose not to out of respect to Jessamine and to let her keep her power. That is if Gristol royalty works like royalty IRL does.

That makes a lot of sense. Corvo and Jessamine were definitely a couple, but it was also certain that the empire's elite would not approve. I'm not sure about such protocol... :P

I remember when I saw that pic that Emily drew for Corvo...
My first thought was, "Hmm. I guess the Empress's bodyguard wasn't covering all the exits one night (if you know what I mean)."

It's true that Emily is adorable. I came back from this one mission, and found a picture of Corvo sitting on Corvo's bedside table. And above the drawing's head was the word Daddy. I d'awwwed right then and there. ^^

this just so cute and yeah emily is cute ^^

To easily take down Tallboys without useing up alot of ammo use blink while aiming at them and immediately swing your sword you'll get an instant kill on them it takes a few tries to get just right but its really cool when you pull it off saves ammo theres no nonviolent way to take them down besides avoiding them and yeah wish it was far more than just nine missions with more exploring and sidemissions hopefully they'll come out with a dishonored 2 soon

It would be super neat to get a second installment (I have my own little fandom world where it would be a peice of cake to make sequels), amd that game deserved as least 14-18 missions T^T

Yes it would and 20 missions at least at first when I heard about Dishonored I thought it be a open world experience like ACreed maybe they'll do that for the second one would have love to explored all of Dunwall from top to bottom.

Blink and Dark vision are my fav powers hope they keep those and include that shadow power that they left out being able to turninto a shadow sounds awesome!

What would be fun if it was open world, and you could explore Dunwall, but ALSO get on ships to go visit the other islands and places beyond it. Exploring around on ships and causing mayhem sounds like a good fun idea to me as well as twice the land to explore. I always use blink and Darkvision, since I dont do lethal playthroughs *I'm such a sook* I dont have much need for most of the others (except agility and things like that)

I yeah that be awesome though I doubt theyed be able to do many other cities still being able go on one of those huge ships and wreck havoc during storms and such sounds cool.

Same here my first playtrhou I killed most hostiles when i couldn't take them out nonthehaly(they really need more then the choke and sleepdarts! though strong arms charm helps)took the targets down without killing them but my chaos was real high so got the bad ending even though I saved Emily the next playthroughs went better I'm now a stealth master >:)

Hit the whale cans on the tallboys back with either arrows or a bullt or a grenade. they explode, takes 2 or 3 shots. If you can bend time, or zoom in, do.

Honestly the game's plot felt rushed. But I dont mind! It was the first of its series, a lot of things like how actions can control. But hey maybe a sequel or a different character with a more darker setting and evil plot will occur. But I love the game, it makes me have so much sympathy in Corvo due to playing him in non lethal cuz he was a man of justice :D But yeah unfinished stuff mean tons of opportunities of fan art :D

Tallboys/men have glowing energy packs on their backs, hidden behind the metal panels. Bullets and Bolts can make them explode, though I'd recommend using Time Warp when doing so. Those fuckers are fast on the trigger.

Whilst dark!Corvo looks badass, I just melt over the picture of him with Emily - "Daddy" for reals or not, that's how I see them!

I prefer "good Corvo" and that's mainly because of how characters like Samuel and Slackjaw respond to him - and of course, how Emily turns out! It kind of breaks the heart to know how things could be if you take the high road, but how quickly things fall apart because of you if you go the murdering route. I guess that's part of the genius of the game, basically making the player Corvo's conscience where *everything* you do has an ultimate consequence that impacts any character you formed an attachment to.

Heck yeah, and I also love Samuel so it's 'Good guy Corvo' all the way.

And thats a major reason why I love the game; because it is emulating a reality that is not often thought about on the games platform and it takes you by surprise in the end. Sure, you can willingly become an evil character in games and throw the world into darkness and hellfire, but in Dishonored that is not what Corvo it about-It's about having revenge and how the choices effect Emily in the end. You can have a bad ending as much as a good ending, you don't get rewarded so much for being a murdering psychopath.

You can pick your poison in this; by blade, or by 'poetic justice' (Which is far sweeter in my opinion XD).

And man now I wanna draw more Corvo-Guildwars2 is waay too distracting >.>

the game seems very "unfinished" to me ... sure its a lot of fun .... and the setting is just epic, but corvo just seems like a silent emotionless blob, there are no cutscenes to bring the story further (and i expected them after i saw the trailer) and i REALLY hoped for a bit more open world ..... i mean come on bethesda (the 2nd place in sandboxgames[ first is and will for ever be rockstar >.<]) had their fingers in it, there are a few hints of open world in the first missions (sidequests random events a store etc) but then they were like "oh fuck this, thats too much work, we'll just do straight lined levels". oh and the story was WAY too short and predictable .... seriously, i 100% knew that this "twist" would happen!!!

overall still a good game, but im a little disapointed ^^

Oh well, I was admittedly spoiled by Bethesda's previous games for being awesometastic open world games, but I wasn't disappointed because it was something different this time, which proved to be just as fun to me. And while I agree lots of things where left open ended and lots more could have been done, I was always the kind of person who liked to fill in the missing links and stories myself. Guess people like me may like silent blob Corvo because they can impose whatever image they have in mind for him-wether he is a cold-blooded assassin or a non-lethal avenger, if he is after poetic justice or give and eye for an eye. It was a game that was not a Fallout or a Skyrim; going a bit back to some old fashioned single playing for me with linear missions that could be completed in different ways. And yup, I didn't foresee the twist and the outcomes, because sometimes I like to give my brain a rest and immerse myself into the story and simply enjoy it as it delivers. For me it was a good story, yes not overly complicated for the audience it was aimed at, but still satisfying.

And hey, open ends and unfinished business always leads to yummy fanfics and fanart!

awesome xD
Btw, @ the tallboys: either airwave their incendary arrows right back at 'em.
Time bend when you're close, dubblejump and assassinate/hit the "legs" 3 times.
Cook a grenade and trow it at them.
Take over a watchtower(if possible).
fire your own incendary arrows at them.
bend time(stop function) and keep firing bullets in timeless mode, then when time goes in they'll die.
Take him over with the ... lame-take-over-magic
that are all the ways I killed them :p
hope they'll be hulpfull.
